I've just installed a Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer soundcard....much better definition and in-game spacial awareness and it supports EAX, and in 2 weeks time I'm hoping to be installing a Killernic M1.

I have no idea why you should have those expansive things
I play with a real shitty pc
18 or 19 inch flatscreen, 256 mb graphic card
the cheapest logitech mouse, normal keyboard
I just dont get why you should spend so much money on a computer
I rock, you suck! End of story...

Hi Haut, the Killernic card, I'm actually swopping for my iPhone, so its not costing me anything (iPhone was a b/day prezzie...lol), and the soundblaster was bought with money I earned from fixing other peeps computers, I worked for it, so why not I thought...lol Back to top

Killernic is pointless; tests were done and it showed only a tiny advantage over an onboard NIC. The money can be much better spent.

Seriously the difference is minor. You're still trying to run Downloads and Games on the same connection and all the really expensive NIC is doing for you is managing the connection. I have lightweight software that will do nearly the same job and it won't set you back £100+.
If the problem you're having with running downloads at the same time as games is FPS related, spend the money on a better CPU/more RAM/better GFX. Just out of interest what is your current spec?

Only things that need upgrading there are the RAM and the gfx. Gfx aren't worth doing until NVIDIA and AMD release their new cards in Sept time. RAM - chuck another 2GB on there, upgrade won't be worth it.
The Q6600 OC'd?
